Job Description:
The Department of Mathematics, in the Science Faculty at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, invites applications from highly qualified individuals for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank with research interests in pure or applied mathematics.

Applicants must have excellent communication skills (Spanish and English), and hold a PhD in Mathematics or a closely related discipline with relevant experience, potential or proven ability for excellence in teaching and research. The Department of Statistics and Applied Probability invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Probability (STAT18A) starting July 1, 2018.

WPI invites applications for a tenure track Assistant/Associate professor position in Financial Mathematics and closely related fields to begin in the fall of 2018. The successful applicant is expected to lead a high quality research program and collaborate with other departmental faculty to further develop a cutting-edge financial mathematics research hub. They will be expected to contribute to the teaching mission of the department giving particular support to courses in Financial and Actuarial Mathematics. The Department of Mathematics, Aarhus University, invites applications for a professorship in Data Science. The position is available from January 1, 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will be part of the stochastic group at the Department.

We seek an internationally highly recognized researcher with a strong theoretical foundation in computational statistics and modern statistical theory of big data and high dimensional problems. Some experience with machine learning and with interdisciplinary research is also important.

Duties include conduct of research within the field of analytic data science, assessment tasks, grant applications and supervision of PhD students and postdocs. The successful applicant is required also to teach and supervise undergraduate and graduate students, prepare and participate in examinations, and fulfil other tasks requested by the Department.

Applicants will be assessed primarily on the basis of the level of documented, original scientific production at an international level, including contributions to the development of their field, as well as their documented teaching qualifications. Managerial and out-reach experience of the applicants, including their ability to attract external funding, will also be considered.

The Stochastics group has a strong theoretical profile in probability theory and mathematical statistics. Over recent decades, the group has hosted two centres of excellence, involving large scale applications in turbulence, finance, bioinformatics and bioimaging.
